cgmp contract manufacturing Draper

Hello, and welcome to the Wasatch Contract Manufacturing blog. Wasatch Labs holds many critical certifications that validate the quality of our manufacturing processes and product ingredients. One of our certifications is the cGMP. In today’s message, we will explain what the cGMP endorsement means.

cGMP refers to the Current Good Manufacturing Practice  obligations enforced by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA). CGMPs provide for operations that assure correct design, monitoring, and control of manufacturing systems and facilities.

Adherence to the cGMP obligations assures the identity, strength, quality, and purity of drug products by requiring that providers of medications adequately control manufacturing processes.

This includes establishing strong quality management systems, obtaining appropriate quality raw materials, developing robust operating procedures, detecting and investigating product quality deviations, and maintaining reliable testing laboratories. This formal system of controls at a pharmaceutical company, if adequately put into practice, helps with preventing instances of contamination, mix-ups, deviations, failures, and errors.

You can trust in the team at Wasatch to make certain that our products obtain the highest quality requirements.

The CGMP requirements for contract manufacturers were established to be flexible which permits each manufacturer to decide individually how to best implement the necessary controls by using scientifically sound design, processing methods, and testing procedures. The flexibility in these regulations allows organizations to use modern technologies and innovative approaches to obtain optimal quality through continual improvement. Accordingly, the “C” in CGMP stands for “current,” requiring companies to use technologies and systems that are up-to-date in order to comply with the standards. Systems and equipment that may have been “top-of-the-line” to prevent contamination, mix-ups, and errors 10 or 20 years ago may be less than adequate by today’s requirements.

How inspiring is this?:

“It’s very hard in the beginning to understand that the whole idea is not to beat the other runners. Eventually you learn that the competition is against the little voice inside you that wants you to quit.”
